The Bramble Tangle

It was a strangely clumsy shadow that made his way through the brambles. Getting caught more than a few times, he was following his orders as obediently as always. He'd been told to stay in the brambles to wait for her, but he was fairly sure that she hadn't meant be literally caught by them. Finding himself caught yet again, he tried to tug free and failed. Giving up, he decided that he'd just stay where he was, moulding his shadowy form around clumsily to perch in the brambles. Blinking his dark green eyes, he seemed content enough to stay and watch the world around him. His memories were fuzzy before he'd been taken into the dark forest, but that was okay. It only made this place more fun to explore, if he was allowed to. Hopefully he would be.

During her journey she'd lost her physical form as it took less energy to become mist again, moving over the land without noise she soon came upon the bramble tangle where she'd arranged to meet the pet. Growing physical once more the rather beautiful she wolf observed the green eyes that floated in the mist, somewhat amused that he'd managed to get himself stuck. Reaching forward she grasped the shadow in her teeth and tugged him free quite easily, "Really pet? I ask you to wait here and you become entangled? Tsk" he was about ready to start learning how to take a shape, although she was preparing herself for a long training session as he wasn't always the brightest. However he always did as he was told now that she'd imposed her rules upon him and the consequences if he did not, "you are ready to learn how to take a physical form Pet, attempt to use what braincells you have to learn" although her voice was crisp and firm, a slight glint in her pale eyes suggested it wasn't meant harshly. Sitting down and curling her tail around herself, the puppet master considered her words wondering what ones would be best, her mind opened a door and she began speaking again "Remember what your body once looked like, the colour, the shape, let the memory fill your mind and spread throughout your body, feel the mist manipulating itself into what once was" if he couldn't remember what he looked like then she'd tell him and describe it to him.

The whispy ball quietly floated into the clearing and hoovered on the edges watching as Puppet Master pulled Let free from the bramble. He took his shadow covered form and solidified his body as much as he could without losing the cover. He hadn't seen any of the clan wolves around when he had checked but that didn't mean they hadn't followed him over. "Puppet Master." He said just loud enough to for the female to hear and know he was there with some information.

Perking up when he saw his mistress arriving, the inexperienced shadow bounced up and down eagerly. Pleased that she'd freed him, he took a quick snoop around the place, curious about the area before listening to her again. he did very much want to have a physical shape again, and then maybe he'd be able to wander around the human homes and see if he could find anything of interest there. About to do as he was told and try to find his physical form, the appearance of the other shadow caused him to immediately zoom deep into the brambles, hiding. He didn't like any of the other dark forest wolves, all they would do was hurt him, and he definitely wasn't going to make a fool of himself with failing to find his physical shape with another one around. He didn't care that his mistress would likely get angry with him, his fear of the other dark forest wolves was far greater, and so he huddled silently down in the brambles, making himself as small and as unnoticeable as he possibly could.

Watching as the dark forest pet began gathering himself, the sudden mention of her name and the visual of the pet vanishing back into the brambles where he was likely going to get stuck again had the patched female rolling her pale blue yes. Turning to study Spy she was about to firmly suggest he tell her what he thought he knew and then beat it when a feeling danced down her spine. Ah it appeared one of the pathetic easily manipulated wolves had escaped, shooting Spy a look and getting an idea of how to get rid of him so she could resume teaching the pet. The puppet master spoke "Information can wait, dear one, I ask that you go and find out who exactly has escaped and see if you can follow them around and interrupt any hints they may try and give. This would be highly useful work and put you in his good graces" she was certain that he'd know that the he she meant was indeed Eclipsestar. Her voice was smooth and warm as if she considered the Spy an ally, none would know that in reality none of them were her allies, no they were just a means to an end on the great game that was being played between the dark forest wolves and starclan. The mastermind and the brains behind most of it, the sleek female offered the Spy a coy smile that suggested she'd reward him later on, once he'd packed up his paws and left the female returned her attention to Pet. "He's gone now baby brain, come on out I don't have all day to be coaxing you out everytime you soil yourself" brushing her tongue over her shoulder, the sly female didn't stop grooming until the shadow with green eyes was infront of her again. Assuming that he remembered what she'd told him although part of her supposed she'd have to tell him again, the puppet master waited and watched for the shadow to make its move.

Huddling deep in the brambles, the small shadow shivered as a weird feeling went through him. He didn't really know what that meant, maybe his mistress would be able to tell him when the other dark forest wolf left. Scared still, he didn't move from where he was, curling as small as he could so that he wouldn't get stuck again this time. Silent still as she spoke to him, letting him know that it was safe to come out, it took him a while to gather his meagre amount of courage. Wriggling forward, he did get stuck a few times, but managed to unstick himself and finally slunk out of the brambles, scared if he was in trouble or not. She didn't do anything though, and he ventured a look at her with his big green eyes. "Try again?" he asked softly, unsure if her plans had changed or not. He really had no idea how to predict her, and most of the time just relied on being quiet and good to stay out of trouble. "There was a funny feeling in the brambles."

During her grooming an unusual feeling had washed over her, yet she'd shown little response, she could guess what that meant, a wolf had escaped the dark forest. A faint smirk briefly showed, Eclipsestar would not be pleased, oh no he'd go into a rage, it'd be best for herself and pet to keep away from the pure white male besmirched with blood of his victims. Ceasing her easy grooming once he was infront of her, she met his green eyes with her blue ones, he asked about trying again which she nodded, when he mentioned the funny feeling in the brambles the dappled female grinned "A new development dearest pet, an interesting one too, someone has escaped the dark forest and eclipsestar wont be pleased" the cunning manipulative lass could already imagine what he'd do to any unfortunate female who got in his way whether they were dark forest or not. "Try again, You're safe here" it was yet another call to the fact that he was her pet and hers alone, only she would protect him and had demonstrated it several times. He seemed content to be good and do as he was told and so they got along well enough, besides instead of having to hurt him herself when he misbehaved she just let the others do it until he was screaming and promising that he'd be good. In the heart of the brambles, it'd take a skilled wolf to get in close to where they were, and if need be he was already mist and she could revoke her physical form for mist once again. Deciding that she'd have to repeat herself, the manipulative female opened her maw "Remember what your body once looked like, the colour, the shape, let the memory fill your mind and spread throughout your body, feel the mist manipulating itself into what once was" leaning back onto her haunches, the manipulative lady awaited his attempts knowing full well i'td take him quite a while, he wasn't the smartest after all but that was what made him a good pet.

Huddling close to the ground, the little shadow gave a sigh of relief. It was all safe with her, it was always safe with her. He was hers, and she kept him so safe from all the others. Except when he was bad. he shivered at that thought, not liking the memories, and decided instead to focus on what she was asking him to do. Shutting his bright green eyes, the inexperienced shadow tried to do as he was told, trying to remember what his alive body had felt like. He took a long time to even start trying to fix his shape, but it didn't work, and he blinked big eyes up at his mistress. "Can't do it." Scared that she was going to get annoyed with him, he edged backwards, making sure not to go too far in case she got annoyed about that as well, and huddled down submissively.

Watching her shadowy pet as he tried to do what she'd said, the female wasn't that surprised when he announced he couldn't do it. Glancing around at the brambles she decided it was time for a change in scenery. If any wolves who were going to make things fun were going to come along than obviously they would have done so already. A little amused that shadowclan was so weak when long ago they'd been by far the strongest in the forest, she stood and shook out her fur "come along pet, we'll continue our lesson elsewhere. Although it is imperative that you learn your shape else how am I to reward you for good behaviour?" He did love his rewards from her after all, perhaps they'd catch up with some of the other wolves from the forest, the twins were fun and it'd be funny to see if atrel and wise ass had found each other as she had long pieced together that they were the long lost lover each had sought. Wise asses determination to change the medicine wolf code was indeed intriguing, perhaps she'd extend her services to him, play about with some wolves and see what empty husks these living wolves had for heads. Flicking her pet a sly look the beautiful thing slipped out of the bramble tangle with the wisp of mist following her. She headed for the sleepy valley, a place away from the wolves territories until her darling pet had regained his shape.

Breathing a sigh of relief when she didn't seem annoyed, the young shadow perked up at the chance to explore somewhere else. He did so want to have his proper shape. Then he could keep getting his rewards for being good, and maybe if he was super good he'd be able to explore on his own. This place looked like so much fun. Bouncing after her at the command, he managed to get out of the brambles only getting caught twice maybe three times. Bounding along and humming a bit of music to himself he followed along obediently, very much not wanting to get in trouble. His other punishments had been so painful. Shivering, he bolted after her, wondering where they were going.
