Named for the sea winds that sweep across the prairie. The grass is thick and flows across the earth along with clumps of heather dotting it here and there. There are few trees there.

Pancake, the young Jack Russell terrier with two brown spots over her whole body was just looking for something to chase for the moment. Her brown eyes twinkled upon seeing movement in the corner of her eye. She turned her head towards the source to find a rabbit almost the size she was grazing on clovers close by. She crouched down low and snuck up on it, her eyes turning colder the more she got closer to it. Upon reaching a good distance the small creature sprang at the prey item and watched its every move. Swiftly she caught up with it and bit onto its hind leg. The rabbit gave a distress squeal and kicked at Pancake's face with its free hind leg but soon Pancake delivered the killing bite to its neck and the rabbit fell still and silent. Pancake lifted her head from it, her white muzzle reddened with the fresh-kill's blood but she didn't let that stop her from getting a good meal. Slowly, she dragged it towards a big enough rabbit hole for both of them to fit in, unknowingly leaving a blood trail to the hole.

Once inside she had enough room to turn around in it and start devouring the morsel. She didn't care if she got in trouble, if she did she could always prove she was a good hunter and perhaps they'd let her join the Clan.

Trotting up to the windswept land, the wind brought the scent of blood to her nose fairly quickly which instantly started her down a dark path. The blood was fresh and with it the smell of someone who was not windclan, her hackles rose and a savage snarl escaped her, whomever this was, they would be removed from Windclan land she would not let them hurt the pups. Easily whipped up into a fever by her paranoid and indeed traumatized mind after what she'd seen happen to Silentpup, Embershard was more than ready to kill whoever that smell belonged to. Racing up and finding the blood trail that the intruder had left behind, following it her amber eyes glittering in anger at the callousness of the intruder to hunt on their land while they had many pups to feed and an elder to think of the usually well mannered wolf growled again. Out of her usual head space for once, standing at the hole she began digging intent on getting out the canine that had killed on their land, in her current mindset not much would stop her from killing whoever it was. Swiftly digging down as the culprit hadn't bothered to hide very far down the hole, digging her jaws into the white fur of her adversary, Embershard yanked it out of the hole and began shaking it around in an attempt to snap its neck like one would with a rabbit. Finding it fought back, the powerful windclan wolf dropped the thing to the ground, now seeing it was a dog, her lips were lifted and her long sharp white teeth bared in a snarl "Get off windclan land, Trespasser, prey stealing mongrel before I kill you and prevent any harm to my clan's pups" she was past the point of caring that a small dog was unlikely to do much harm, indeed her fragile psyche told her two things. 1. This was a threat, 2. Remove it or kill it, with no other wolf in sight just yet there was nothing to stop her from advancing forward, usually thoughtful amber eyes glittering with a sea of powerful emotions.

Diamondfang followed on Embershard’s heels, the scent of blood hitting her nose along with a growl showing her displeasure with the situation in front of her. Embershard spoke as Diamondfang lowered her body closer to the ground in order to lower her center of gravity and give her the advantage in a fight, her fur bristling along her spine as she snarled, letting her sharp teeth show. Diamondfang had no intention of killing the dog… they were too small to do any real harm, but she was still on edge enough with the sudden passing of her clan mates to leave her with a wound or two to remember the might of WindClan by. Very few dogs ever showed respect to the clans or the warrior code, something that felt more of a burden to Diamondfang. This dog, for instance, had no blatant respect for the borders of wolves. There were the good few, but they were few and far in between. She didn’t comment in front of the dog, but she worried about Embershard in that moment, the fury that went into pulling the other female up. “Leave now and we’ll spare your life.” They couldn't afford to have prey stealers on their lands... especially with Leaf Bare just around the corner.

Pancake wasn't expecting to get attacked so soon. Half-way through getting a fill she heard a growl from the outside and then she was caught off-guard by the sound of something digging at the edge of the rabbit hole she was in. She had no time to dig deeper when powerful jaws gripped her scruff and she was raised out of the hole and shook like a ragdoll. Not expecting all of this the tiny but big-hearted Jack Russell struggled against her attacker, fearing if she wouldn't her life might very much depend on it. Once she was let go she stumbled onto the grass and yelped in fear. She would tuck her tail in, but her tail was too short. She slowly backed away from the fae, her white fur along her back turning red. At Embershard's words her ears immediately lowered. "To pups, I would never harm a pup." she told the fae, still backing up fearfully. The tiny dog's dark chocolate brown eyes were flickering like candlelight, showing how fearful she was.

An ear flicked backwards as Diamondfang came up beside her and told the trespasser that if it left now they'd spare its life. She supposed that'd have to do, ideally she'd kill the dog so it couldn't hurt them if it came back later, if it wasn't a wolf of windclan then it couldn't be trusted as simple as that. However it was better to show a united front before a stranger, so she just nodded in agreement with her stripped companion, watching the dogs fearful behaviour Embershard's gaze remained hard. "You heard Diamondfang! Get lost dog, there is no place for prey stealers here!" that was the last warning she was going to give, Lilacsplash's pups needed prey to survive and this tiny white dog had stolen prey that could have fed them. Taking a few steps forward so that she towered over the dog, her intentions were clear within her gaze, indeed she'd lost herself in the paranoia and fear of what she'd seen. How could she know that back at camp more tragedy and misfortune was afflicting her clan? An ear flicked back at a chilling howl that had her itching to get back, she didn't know that voice, who was it? An irritated snarl escaped, the dog needed to hurry up and get going or she'd kill it and put it on the fresh kill pile herself, with leaf bare coming anything even a scrawny runt like it would be better than nothing.

While she understood Embershard’s anger, murdering the dog was not the way to go… at least, not to her. She preferred to be merciful, give a second chance, but never a third. “You harm them by stealing our food and trespassing on our lands.” She hissed back at the dog, taking a step forward with her fur bristling all the way down her spine. This was what she’d become a warrior for – to defend her clan against threats like these. Diamondfang's tail rose, curling around her back as she raised her haunches and hackles in a display of dominance over the house pet that had made the mistake to trespass on the prairie. “Leave now or you'll wish you had never come anywhere near the prairie. I won’t say it again.”

Pancake lowered herself even more and backed up slowly. These wolves meant business and she didn't want to be attacked again. "Please don't hurt me, I'll make it up to you. I-I-I'll pay off my debt to the Clan, I promise." she said fearfully. She backed towards another rabbit hole but didn't enter it. In fact she tripped on it and fell onto her back pathetically. "I-I'll catch prey for your Clan if I have to!" she told them, now whimpering in fear and shaking.

Why was this dog so stupid? They'd already told it they wanted it to go, "Are you brainless? We don't want you on our territory, and if you don't get out now we will kill you" her gaze showed she was only moments away from lashing out and killing the thread to her clan. The clan was all she had now, threats would not be tolerated, the wind was cold and blustery forcefully pushing the long grass to bend, the red wolf had been pushed past her mental capabilities, and would likely suffer more when she returned to camp and learnt what was going on there. Flicking a glance at Diamondfang silently questioning if she was with her or not, it was obvious to her that this white dog didn't have any brains else she would have fled by now. "This is your last chance mutt, if you don't leave our territory now we will kill you" she reiterated, it seemed that she needed to repeat herself to try and get through the dogs thick as two bricks skull.

Pancake backed up even more, her eyes filled with tears now at the russet and brindled fae's words about if she didn't leave she would be killed. Struggling for words, Pancake lowered her ears and tail and then bolted off. She tripped and fell feet away from them but then struggled to get back up. Finally achieving to, she ran with a fearful yelp away from them. So far wolves to her were nothing but savages!! Crying tears that blurred her vision, she tripped yet again about 13 feet away from them and sobbed a little there. Once she was certain she was okay and no more tears fell, she continued to run until she was certain she was no longer on WindClan territory.

With the little white dog off of Windclan territory, Embershard relaxed and gave a long sigh of relief before looking over at Diamondfang with a quiet look of gratitude for backing her up. However the wind brought noises from the direction of camp that eliminated her short sense of calm. Not sure what was going on and with the urge to get back to camp now there was blood in the wind, embershard flicked Diamondfang another look, with everything that was happening she was starting to loose more and more of her stability. This had been shown with how she dealt with the small dog, “Lets get back to camp, somethings not right” not waiting for a reply the wolf whirled about on her four paws and whipped back to camp the strong wind blowing snow through her fur trying to chill her without any real success. The closer she got to camp the more blood she smelled, and the more she smelled the more she could guess who it belonged, but that couldn’t be true their leader couldn’t have lost that much blood she was probably worrying over nothing. Still she pushed herself forward and towards camp her sure footed paws numb from the cold snow that covered the ground, ignoring the pain she reached the entrance of camp and gave a quick look over her shoulder for diamondfang before entering

Brackenflash arrived at the prairie and just took a moment to be still. He closed his eyes and took in the sounds of the wind and the scents of prey scurrying around. He loved being a windclanner and loved how open their territory was and the wind blowing through his fur as he chased after rabbits and hares. He really hoped that things started to look up for windclan as right now they didn't have a deputy as Lilysong had gone missing and Larkstar was severely hurt and may not even survive her wounds. He wondered if even her nine lives would help her survive this. He wondered what was going to happen to his clan and who would Honeybadger and Ashfrost appoint. Honeybadger as the elder of the clan would most likely assume control along with Ashfrost as the medicine wolf and closest to starclan.

Stale scents were swept towards her by the wind, Heavycloud, Lilacsplash, Lilysong, Silverfern, Wrenclaw, Diamondfang. Out of all of the old scents, only Silverfern was still around the others dead or gone the wind changed and brought a fresh scent to her which she recognized as belonging to Brackenflash, they'd make a better hunting team if they hunted together. Slinking through the long grass blending into it seamlessly, the she-wolf soon came across the male she'd scented and greeted him "hello Brackenflash" polite enough the female cast around for the scent of prey, the long grass was a pain when it came to finding prey as it interrupted one's view. Spotting a large rock outcropping not too far away she trotted over to it and leaped up onto it finally able to see over the sea of grass bending beneath the winds touch. Spotting a pair of antlers sticking up out of the grass some distance away, Ember jumped down and spoke to the other Windclan warrior "There's an Antelope not too far from here, if we work together it'd be a great kill for the Clan" waiting for his answer a little impatiently for the moment she was fine being able to throw herself into working for her clan distracted her from the emptiness and the feeling of needles under her skin.

Brackenflash had been about to go hunt for some hares or rabbits when the scent of his crush flooded his nose. Trying to look through the long grass to see her he just waited to see if she would approach him. Though he couldn't deny that he was happy to see her alive and well. He had feared that maybe something had happened to her while she was out escorting the loner to the borders. "Hi Embershard escort went okay? And sure the clan could use a big kill with all the pups needing to be fed." He said as he joined her on the rock. He was more than happy to hunt for his clan and especially with one that held the same trust and loyalty in the warrior code as he did. "I can go around the other side and chase the prey to you. Your fur blends in better with the grass, does that sound good?" There wouldn't be a point in doing it the other way around as he the only thing he had to his advantage was his speed.

Ember nodded politely in response to the question about the patrol, nobody needed to know about the interesting conversation with Whiteshadow of Riverclan. There were plenty of pups in the clan at the moment, she couldn’t imagine herself having pups at this stage in her life, it’d restrict her warrior activities that was for sure. Also, she didn’t want to end up like Lilacsplash had, without a mate to back her up and soon dying to leave her pups orphaned, they were lucky that Ashfrost was an excellent medicine wolf and Honeybadger was rather doting on pups. Brackenflash explained his idea of him chasing the prey over, a typical ambush idea which after a few seconds thought was probably one of the best ones they had to use at the moment. Amber eyes flicked over the prairie quietly trying to figure out where the best spot to be would be, sometimes the high ground was best but what she wanted to do was to tear at the underbelly of the antelope it worked better for wolves after all. So she continued studying the world around her before noticing a piece uneven ground, given away by the subtly different heights of the grass. The hot dry wind of green leaf rushed through the grass bending the dry yellow stalks as it did so, “Alright Brackenflash do you see the broken ground over there” gesturing with her muzzle she waited for affirmation before continuing “if you can spook it that way I’ll wait for it and go for its belly” she trusted that he was smart enough to figure out what needed to be done. It was hard to say now what would happen and so she didn’t bother giving him any instructions, it wasn’t her place to, jumping down from the rock she slunk around to where the broken earth was crouching down and waiting.

Brackenflash looked to where Embershard was pointing and he did indeed see where the pretty fae was pointing, it would be the perfect place for her to hide. He just had to make sure that he steered the antelope in that direction or they just might loose their chance at a decent meal. He nodded his head in understanding and waited until she was well hidden from view before he went around the antelope to get to the side of it. He then crouched down low to where his belly was almost touching the ground. He waited for the right moment when the antelope wasnt looking in Embershards direction before he took off for it. He wanted his prey to see him and just see that it was only him that was giving chase so that its soul focus would be on him.

Brackenflash kept the anelope running in the right direction but kept at a safe distance, but when the anelope would try and dart to a different path Brackenflash would straighten it out by increasing his speed to nip at its legs. He did this until it seemed to understand that going another direction would cause pain. Soon the antelope came upon the place that Embershard was hiding. He gave the antelope a hard bite on the leg so that it wouldnt be able to make the jump over the place where his clanmate was hiding, it would have to try and go straight through. From there he let Embershard make her move and was prepared to back her up in anyway he needed to.
