The Moon Cave 06_luray_slide-8db88c0b2bc5fa6bd98ab4f43f1c978ceb2ef14b-s6-c30

A cavern with many stalagmite and stalactite crystals hanging from the ceiling and floor. They seem to glow in the darkness of the night, along with the pools of glimmering water collected in indentations of the ground. The journey into this section of the cave is a long one and must be made at moonhigh in order to speak with StarClan. In order to do so, a wolf's nose must be touching one of the crystals. Watch your step, on all sides of this crystal platform the ground slopes downward into darkness and the abyss.

By the time they arrived, the sky had turned completely black. Several faint stars shown through the sky, and the land around them had fallen silent. "Something's not right here." He muttered, worry edging his voice. Not in all his days had he ever experience anything like this. There was an unexplainable feeling of dread that seemed to hang over the land. Like thin ice on a pond that was about to give way. Whatever it was, hopefully Starclan would have answers and that was all Nettle could hope for.
"This is the Mooncave. Once inside lay your head against one of the stalagmites on the ground." He instructed Cherrypaw, meeting her gaze. The cave opening loomed ominously before them, and it seemed somehow warped against the strange lighting. Nettlecloud paused for a moment before padding inside, the already dwindling light dimming even more so under the stone dwelling. After a short while of walking Nettle came to the pool, very difficult to distinguish within the darkness. He then slowly laid down and pressed his nose to the smooth stone, the babbling of the water doing little to calm his nerves. Taking one last sigh, the male closed his eyes, giving way into the gloom.

Cherrypaw's blue eyes grew flickering like candles with worry upon following her mentor inside. The air around her made her fur stand on end and her tail fluff up a little, she was obviously scared. After the long journey the exhaustion was almost too much but she had kept pace with Nettlecloud the whole way. She followed him towards the stalagmite crystals and let her eyes adjust to the darkness. She saw him laid down near one and press his nose against one. She copied his motion and pressed her nose against a different one. Closing her eyes, she awaited the sleep StarClan would send to her.

For several long minutes after the two wolves had touched their noses to the stalactites that hung from the ceiling of the cave, everything was dark. Finally, after what seemed an eternity eyes glowed and it got light enough for the two to see they were surrounded. They were led by a large white male who had disturbingly focused amber eyes. There was an intense evil lurking within the depths of those eyes. Neither Nettlecloud nor Cherrypaw had the ability to speak –  indeed they were frozen in place as if statues. Soft snickers sounded from the wolves whom surrounded them, they smelt of death, decay and other things best left untouched by anyone with a conscience. The large white male spoke with a sneer. “No wonder the clans are weak, with an old fool for a medicine wolf and a crippled spoilt brat for an apprentice!” He threw back his head and laughed, loud mocking laughter and sure enough the other wolves of the dark forest joined in. “No, these weeks are ours. Your precious Starclan is powerless until the moon reveals the sun again,” he added, careful not to name how many weeks.

The long forgotten leader Eclipsestar who'd been a cold cruel leader of Riverclan long long ago couldn't help the sneer on his face. So weak, so worthless, so helpless. He'd keep them here a while and toy with them until they returned them to the real world to spread the word that they were essentially doomed. The gang of wolves waited with baited breath to see how the burly male would show the power of the dark forest. “You're both pathetic. We look forward to taking wolves from you as you try ever so desperately to save them but to no avail. Because we're friends, I'll let you in on a little secret. Any wolf that dies during the eclipse doesn’t go to Starclan. They get sent to the dark forest. Fodder for us to practice on.” Chuckling, the handsome but devilish male considered the two medicine wolves before nodding his head to the others. They wouldn't kill them, oh no. They'd just give them a short sharp delicious slice of pain. So they did, the medicine wolf and the one who wished to become an Apprentice were taunted and ripped into before finally they were let go to go and warn the clans of their doom, they were covered in wounds and it seemed Cherrypaws useless paw had been a special target. Once they awoke the cave was in complete darkness, no stars shone it was if the world had been shrouded and the disturbing smell of the dark forest wolves was all around the cave, following them as they made their escape into the frigid night air.

Cherrypaw jolted awake with wide eyes and quick pants. She glanced around in the darkness for the wolves but found herself only with her mentor. She quickly checked her lame paw to see it was completely fine, though her dreams made her have fear-sweat and that wasn't good at all. She glanced towards Nettlecloud to see if he had the same dream as well and she gulped nervously. Her first day as medicine wolf apprentice and there was already something bad going on. Oh StarClan, I'm going to need all the courage I can get during this time! she thought to herself as she sat up and tried to relax, though fear-scent surrounded her.

Nothing could have prepared him for what they faced that night. By the time Nettlecloud awoke, he shot up panting, every hair on him bristling out of fear. "No, no, this can't be happening!" He bared his teeth on instinct though he knew very well that he could do nothing to prevent these dark warriors from marching into the clan's territory. Trying to slow his fast breathing, the male turned to gaze at his apprentice who was already awakening. "Cherrypaw, are you alright?" He asked, his gaze sparking with fear. He poked his nose into her fur but could smell no blood on her pelt. "It was all a dream. A Starclan forsaken vision." He no longer tried to hide his worry, instead all thought was focused on the coming terror that lay ahead. "Come on, we need to warn Rosestar of what we saw." He led the way out of the cave, but made sure that his apprentice followed closely behind. He did not trust one of those vicious beasts not to carry Cherrypaw away, and was extra cautious when leaving the tunnel. He paused for a moment, to check on the younger she-wolf before taking off into the darkness, well aware of the lack of stars that refused to illuminate the murky surroundings.

Cherrypaw relaxed slightly when Nettlecloud woke up. "No StarClan? If they die they...." she cut off and followed after him the best she could, her pelt prickled in fear. Her blue eyes held in fearful tears as she didn't like this dream at all nor will she enjoy anything that will happen with the next few weeks. The gaze of the white wolf still haunted her and she found herself shaking in fear as she followed her mentor back to camp.

PostSubject: Re: The Moon Cave   The Moon Cave I_icon_minitimeThu Sep 07, 2017 11:42 pm

The moon had already begun to rise by the time the three wolves had entered the area. Ivyshade padded along, her pace quick and silent. Since the ending of the eclipse, the sky had returned to it's normal state once more, and the feeling of dread and eeriness had faded. Still, what had happened to Nightstar weighed heavily on her mind, and there was much she hoped to find out from her starry ancestors this evening.
A large cave soon came into view and loomed up before them. Ivy continued to trot forward and slowed to a halt once they came to the entrance. Turning to face the two wolves behind her, she gave them directions on what to do and how to follow. "This is it. Once inside, follow me and I'll lead you into the cave where we speak with Starclan." She kept gaze with both of them, her green eyes almost the only thing visible on her with her black coat. "Touch your nose against one of the crystals and lay down, Starclan will come to greet you shortly afterwards. But first, there's a ceremony we must preform before then." She looked to Tremblepup now, and beckoned her with a flick of her tail. "I, Ivyshade, medicine wolf of Shadowclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this pup. Tremblepup, do you promise to uphold the way of a medicine wolf, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan, and to protect all wolves equally, even at the cost of your life?"
Ivyshade paused a moment and waited for the young wolf to respond.
"Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your true name as a medicine wolf apprentice. Tremblepup, from this moment you shall be known as Tremblepaw. StarClan honors your knowledge and certainty, and we welcome you as a medicine wolf apprentice of Shadowclan." With a more softer gaze, Ivy looked down on her new apprentice, her face faintly showing traces of a smile. "Once we're inside, lay down next to the crystal by me and close your eyes." Waiting to hear both of their responses, the Medicine Wolf padded forward once again into the dark cave. There was no light at all, and the three of them walked for a little ways until the path lit up again. Once they were in the main chamber, Ivyshade went to lay down against one of the large stalagmites on the ground, closing her eyes and gently pressing her nose against it.

PostSubject: Re: The Moon Cave   The Moon Cave I_icon_minitimeFri Sep 08, 2017 12:16 am

The large wolf had kept up the pace easily enough, silent the entire journey as he considered what was ahead of him, he'd never felt nervous like this before not even before fights. However these thoughts were kept private, halting as Ivyshade did he listened silently as she explained that they needed to follow her once inside and that they needed to touch their noses to one of the crystals that lived embedded in the stalagmites. Listening and watching as Ivyshade preformed the medicine wolf apprentice ceremony, asking Tremblepup if she agreed to treat all wolves equally even as if it cost her her life. Tremblepup responded and then was renamed Tremblepaw the constant changing of names in the clans was something he'd never really gotten used to. But then again before coming to the clans he'd been known as just steel all his life, and now it looked like he would be departing with his name once and for all. The thought was somewhat depressing, he was saying good bye to his old life forever, life as a rogue, life as a fighting wolf, life as an ordinary warrior within this pack. He sighed softly to himself before following Ivyshade through the claustrophobic tunnels allowing Tremblepaw to go infront of him so the scaredy cat wolf wouldn't get lost, looking around him in interest when they reached the cavern where the stalagmites grew up out of the ground and were embedded with crystals that gave off a strange light he couldn't help the suspicious look he flicked them. Going into a small room with shiny crystals and two other wolves seemed like a rather stupid plan, but no backing out now, huffing he picked a stalagmite and padded over to it. Boldly lying down as if he had not a care in the world, however he couldn't help the slight hesitation, he'd never been a big fan of the unknown, but he had no choice, this was what was needed and he would be resolute and see it through. He closed his eyes and touched his nose to the stone, instantly his body went stiff and cold as his soul was drawn through the crystal and sent to starclan for his ceremony

The pup had finally managed to reach the mooncave entrance along with Ivyshade and stood there panting heavily when they finally stopped, she’d never walked so much in her entire life and so naturally she was exhausted. To tired to have the energy to worry and feel anxious she flopped down onto the ground and rested her belly on the cool stone, her ears perked forward and listening to ivyshade as she explained what to do once they were inside. This happened to be following her into the cave where they spoke with starclan, rather mesmerized by the medicine wolfs green eyes tremblepup nodded as the medicine wolf explained that they needed to touch their noses against the crystals and lie down and then after that, Starclan would meet with them. Blinking when she was beckoned to, the puppy got up off of the cool stone ground and padded closer to Ivyshade looking more curious than nervous although the occasional lick of her nose betrayed her. Listening to the words she stared up at the black wolf in surprise, she was asked to promise to up hold the way of a medicine wolf, to stand apart from rivalry between clan and clan and to protect all wolves equally even at the cost of her life. If that meant she could help and heal instead of being forced to hurt, then yes, of course, the pup nodded her head “Yes I do, Ivyshade” her voice trembled a little but she meant her words, being able to help others would be so nice after all.

With those four words, Ivyshade nodded and spoke telling her that her name was now Tremblepaw, a medicine wolf apprentice. Smiling shyly, she blinked in sheer surprise when she was told that Starclan honors her knowledge and her certainty. She didn’t know anything, she was just a stupid pup, worthless and unneeded, a spare, looking down and missing the softer gaze she studied the ground under her paws as her mind continued to pick on her, bring her down and as per usual ruin the moment for her. Taking a short breath, she listened to Ivyshade advise her to lay down at the crystal closest to her and close her eyes. “Okay Ivyshade” she murmured looking up and following her, thankful that she was allowed to go infront of Dragonsteel so she could stay close to her mentor. Trotting into the dark cave she stayed close to Ivy and found a crystal encrusted stalagmite that was close to her mentor and lay down closing her eyes.

The Moon Cave Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Moon Cave   The Moon Cave I_icon_minitimeFri Sep 08, 2017 12:40 am

After touching his black nose to a cool stalagmite, the burly male grew still, opening his yellow-green eyes he started back a little in surprise, never in his hard life having seen anything like the sight that was now before him. Wolf after wolf with stars in their fur were laid out before him, watching him with wisdom shining in their eyes. Looking around at them all a flash of nervousness briefly ran through him before Steel reminded himself of exactly who he was, lifting his head his gaze narrowed slightly and he studied them just as much they studied him, as if they were finding each other worthy. Finally the large jet black wolf with gold eyes stepped forward and spoke in a dark voice

“Welcome Dragonsteel, my name is Shadestar, we of Shadowclan find you worthy to Lead the great clan of shadows. However first…. Your life must be stripped from you”

a searing pain not dissimilar to what he went through when killian had torn a great chunk out of his chest, gritting his teeth he didn’t let much of the pain show instead glaring about which in a way showed his pain after all as he usually had the sense when to turn his piercing gaze into a glare. Finally, the pain was over, it left him feeling strangely stripped of everything that had made him there, although it was all still there under the surface. Looking at the powerful dark leader who had a strong powerful aura about him, one couldn’t help but respect him, Dragonsteel prepared himself for whatever was next. The gold eyed star furred leader stepped closer to him before opening his maw to speak once again

“I Give you this first life of ferocity, may it give you power during battles”

The large respected and feared Shadowclan leader leant his head forward and touched his nose to Dragonsteels, a white-hot bolt of pain coursed through him not unlike being electrocuted. Left with a metallic taste in his mouth the grey male could feel for a moment a primal power ferocity that growled at him to defend his clan, gain more territory for them and punish trespassers. Blinking his piercing gaze at the leader he swallowed in an attempt to rid himself of the metallic taste and watched as Shadestar stepped back into the shadows. He was definitely one Dragonsteel could respect, and it was likely that he would model some of himself after the shadowy wolf.

The wolf that walked up next was none other than Brambleroses’s grandfather, Bluestorm, the blue wolf was proud and powerful in death, he’d died one of the most honourable deaths of defending his clan against the two-legs that had caused so much chaos and destruction in the old territories which was long before steel had ever joined shadowclan to become Dragonsteel. Unnatural red eyes bore into yellow-green ones for a long moment before finally he spoke

“I am Bluestorm, grandfather of Bramblerose and I give you a life of perseverance – so that you may keep going even when things become tough”

Even prepared for what was coming, the bolt of energy that shocked him once again once their noses touched was still as painful as ever and left him a little short of breath.  A well of determination and grit flooded him, he knew this moment would return to him in years to come when he was doubted or tough times came. What he wasn’t prepared for was the sudden taste of blood and chaotic frenzied memories that were Bluestorms final moments alive, defending his clan. Wanting to flinch back but frozen in place the fighter stared into the red eyes of the blue and grey male until finally Bluestorm drew his head back and returned to his place within the ranks of the star-studded wolves.

The next wolf that stepped forward seemed a little different, indeed he’d been born in sunclan, had killed a pup from another clan and had left to join Sunclan. Oakthorn with his brown and cream fur and bright yellow eyes was focused on Dragonsteel, he’d never spoken any regrets for killing fullpup indeed if he hadn’t done so it was likely that he and Shadowstorm never would have joined Sunclan. His mate however had returned to Thunderclan after his death, but when she too had joined Starclan along with Shadowstorm they were all together again, indeed his final pup Moonshadow had only in recent months joined her family again. He spoke in a light baritone a mild voice that showed nothing of the rage he could slip into when he was wound up enough.

“Greetings Dragonsteel, I am Oakthorn. I bestow upon you a life of instinct, follow them and they will never fail you”

Just after those words, he touched his nose to Dragonsteels, who was now more than prepared for the painful bolt that rushed through him. A feeling of certainty settling over him afterwards, he knew that the tan and cream wolf was quite correct, instincts had been something that’d gotten him through his days fighting. Staring into the yellow eyes, frozen in place until the wolf backed away and padded back to stand and watch him, Dragonsteel shook out his fur panting a little from the pain of the previous life. Each life was getting more and more painful; however, he could handle it, he was an ex fighter, he could handle anything these star studded wolves threw at him.

A female padded forward next, dark blue with royal blue eyes she distributed a cold aura that was almost enough to make the temperature drop around him, stopping infront of him the blue female flicked her ears. She seemed to study him as if weighing up herself if he was worth giving a life too, the female had lost her own in the two leg facility as one of the earliest experiments her daughter Pixie or Bramblerose was the only part of her that had escaped the two leg hell nest. Taking a soft breath, the cold female finally spoke to him

“I am Aurafrost of Stormclan, mother of Bramblerose, I give you a life of cool headedness, use it to remain calm during disputes when tempers rise”

It was clear her mention of her daughter had been a subtle warning to him to make sure she was well cared for lest he bring down the wrath of the formidable female on his head. She took the final two steps forward and touched her nose to his, once again the bolt passed through him however this time instead of feeling what he expected at the end was a pain so great that even he would have screamed had he been able to move a muscle. He was forced to witness Aurafrosts death, another silent warning of the cold warrior to make sure her death hadn’t been for nothing and that her daughter was protected. She shot him a cold look before turning and stepping back into her place amongst the rank upon rank of wolves, of all ages, pups, apprentices, warriors, elders every age and shape was there watching Dragonsteel as he recovered from the sudden burst of extreme pain he’d just experienced.

A young warrior was next in line to give the male his life, he had a beautiful pair of turquoise eyes and had an easy smile on his face not a typical shadowclan wolf. He was black with some brown patches through his fur, surprisingly he was actually a riverclan wolf that had shown up to add some lightness to the entire palaver. Flicking his ears and appearing to ignore some of the disgusted looks of some of the other wolves, being a riverclanner and then a stormclan wolf he had the slight aroma of fish about him which was perhaps the purpose of some of the looks he was being given that still he appeared to not notice. Flashing a charming grin, Fangclaw opened his maw and spoke to Dragonsteel

“Greetings, I am Fangclaw of Stormclan! The life I give to you is one of charm, so you may speak your way out of situations instead of using force all the time”

Not waiting for an argument he firmly pressed his nose to Dragonsteel, administering the painful process that was gaining a life, there wasn’t much to this one and all too soon Fangclaw was finished and moved back to watch ending up with quite a wide space around him as none of the others really wanted to be around a fish smelling wolf. This appeared to suit him, as he settled himself there with his easy flirtatious grin still on his maw

There were a few moments of silence before the next wolf who’d chosen to give Dragonsteel a life padded forward, he had striking violet eyes and had a pitch black long coat that hung off his frame giving him the appearance of being much bigger than he really was. He had two white paws, both on his front paws, and on his face white dots not unlike freckles spread out over his muzzle and cheeks. He moved without sound, and appeared to have been with starclan for quite some time, born before Stormclan had come into existence he was quite clearly intelligent and cunning with these two traits showing in his unusual but striking eyes. Standing tall Dragonsteel prepared himself for yet another jolt of pain that he was quickly starting to associate with gaining a life, however he was more than ready to accept the pain. As he watched, the stranger opened his mouth and spoke in a soft voice that one had to pay close attention to be able to hear it

“My name is Silentwhisper, the life i give to you Dragonsteel is one of cunning, use it wisely”

Apparently not one for words, he then stepped forward and touched his cold nose to Dragonsteels, the powerful bolt draining more strength from him. The powerful built male had plenty of stamina to boast of and yet the process of being given life after life was draining him in a way nothing had before. Held still as the energy coursed through him Silentwhisper didn’t hang around, soon backing up to return to his place, his violet eyes lingering on Dragonsteel rather intensely.

A pure white female strode forward, from Stormclan, she like Aurafrost had a frosty aura although hers was subtly different, she had brown eyes with amber flecks in them and was of a medium build. The twin sister to Opalwing who’d died trying to rescue wolves in the facility, Ivoryfrost had always been colder and had found it harder to socialize than her sister and so had naturally relied on her, with her death the female had become even more reclusive. She’d died when Stormclan had still been around, Dragonsteel watched her come closer somewhat wearily, by his count he had this life and two more. Gritting his teeth determined to see this through, the warrior didn’t flinch back when she finally was close enough, and listened carefully when she spoke.

“I am Ivoryfrost of Stormclan, I give you a life of Loyalty, serve shadowclan well”

She touched her nose to the males nose, the now familiar pain burning its way through him, an intense burning loyalty festered in his heart, Loyalty to his clan loyalty to the warrior code that he had when he’d first joined thought to be rather pointless. Feeling like he suddenly understood it a lot more, he dipped his head in respect as the cold frosty white female stepped back and moved to stand near Fangclaw as she was originally from Riverclan as well before Stormclan had come into existence.

The ranks of wolves parted showing a wolf with gold eyes and patches of blue and brown all over him, he strode forward a sharp glint in his eyes. He was an infamous shadowclan warrior who’d become a medicine wolf shortly after Stormclan had formed, he stalked right up to Dragonsteel and sent him a glare. Clearly he was a wolf who was short tempered and rather opinionated as a lot of older wolves were, he flicked his tail a little dismissively he opened his jaws and spoke in a fierce sharp voice

“I am Owlscreech of Shadowclan, Warrior and Medicine wolf. I give you a life of duty, you must always do your duty whether it be what you want or not”

He spoke from experience, he’d been more than happy being a warrior but after Ravensky’s death Starclan had chosen him to become the medicine wolf of Stormclan. He’d dutifully trained Twistedfoot and had done his duty although he had always resented the forced change. He’d never wanted to be anything more than a warrior, he scowled at Dragonsteel before leaning forward and touching his nose to Dragonsteels, the pain from the fierce wolf made his paws quiver very briefly underneath him. Feeling like he might loose consciousness, Owlscreech stepped back and just grunted before stalking off and vanishing leaving Dragonsteel to guess that he’d gone to go see Ivyshade and Tremblepup although he could guess the fearsome wolf would likely scare Tremblepup quite badly.

Finally it was the last life, and he found himself wondering what wolf would appear next to touch their nose to his and to send him through more pain. When the ranks parted, he blinked in some surprise, there was a plain brown wolf with silver eyes, she moved forward towards him with her head held high and a wise look in her eyes. There was something about her that garnered respect from him, watching her quietly as she began to speak, her soft voice somehow travelled around the clearing where the wolves of starclan had gathered to witness the makings of a new leader.

“I am Lunalight, of shadowclan, and of stormclan, I give to you Dragonsteel your final life, one of heart. Never forget to love, your heart will guide you well. Underneath those layers you give yourself, you have a good one”

The silver eyed female was more perceptive than she appeared, easily stripping the wolf down for what he truly was, which he often forgot himself. Lunalight leant forward and touched her nose to his a powerful zap striking through him once more. Tasting metal in his mouth once again he wanted to grimace but could not, his heart in his chest ached going through a myriad of emotions, heart ache, love, guilt, and more leaving him rather overwhelmed and speechless. She drew her head back and gave him a slight smile, she moved backwards allowing the other’s who’d given the silver wolf his nine lives to gather around him. Shadestar was the first to begin chanting Dragonsteels new name, and the others soon joined in one after the other until the entire clearing rang with his name. The scene started to fade before his eyes leaving him to wake up

“Dragonstar! Dragonstar! Dragonstar! Dragonstar!”

The Moon Cave Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Moon Cave   The Moon Cave I_icon_minitimeFri Sep 08, 2017 12:41 am

Once both Tremble and Ivy had touched their noses to the stalagmite, they quickly woke up in what appeared to be a marshy area. Waiting for them was a jet black she wolf, rather small and with pretty purple eyes, a quiet gentle smile was on her face, as if she’d been expecting them for quite some time.

“Welcome Ivyshade and Tremblepaw, I am Ravensky, Owlscreech will be along soon”

Owlscreech was often Ivyshades consult as twistedfoot her own mentor was still alive, the crotchety old wolf had trained twistedfoot some time ago now. Ravensky was small and quiet but gentle, she stood and padded over to them both to quietly greet them both with a light touch to their nose. Soon enough Owlscreech showed up rather irritably sending a scowl towards Tremblepaw who avoided his gaze, edged a little closer to Ivyshade but apart from that stood her ground.

“So you want to be a medicine wolf squirt? Hmph, I suppose you’ll do. ”

He rasped in his grumpy rather short-tempered voice, flicking his ears, surprisingly he looked shockingly like Forsakensoul something Ivyshade had picked up from her first meeting with him during her medicine wolf ceremony. With Tremblepaw accepted by them both, Ravensky shifted her paws a moment as if there was something more she wanted to say. The older wolf grumbled, he was notorious for thinking that the clans should figure out things on their own without relying on Starclan like a crutch but that disagreed with Ravenskys belief that they should help the clans as needed and had won this argument. She sat down once more and spoke cryptically

“The darkness that has passed will rise again, fiercer, stronger feeding on the lives that have been stolen, beware the shadows Ivyshade, they are not done with the clans yet”

Unable to say more, as Owlscreech had been adamant that they keep things subtle, the scene of the two oddly matched wolves faded leaving the two to wake shortly after Dragonstar. The cave was completely pitch black which only added to the eeriness of the situation, even the glow worms that lit the way like miniature stars were dark echoing the warning.

The Moon Cave Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Moon Cave   The Moon Cave I_icon_minitimeFri Sep 08, 2017 2:56 am

The echo of the fay's words resounded through her mind as she awoke. Gradually she became aware of the cold, still air around her and the frosty stone beneath her paws. "Beware the shadows..." Ivyshade was not surprised at the cryptic warning she had been given. After what happened to Nightstar, she had figured that it was only a matter of time before something of that caliber happened again. There was much more she had wanted to learn from the two past Medicine Wolves, yet she knew that they would never be specific with details. No, what she had learned was enough for now, and enough to confirm her own suspicions. She had wondered for some time if the eclipse had caused the dark forest wolves to become more powerful, and from what was spoken, this appeared to be the case. Now it seemed that they were going to rise again, something that Ivy would have to be thoroughly prepared for.
Tremblepaw woke up shortly after she did. Ivyshade gave her apprentice a smile and patted her head softly with her snout. "You did well tonight Tremblepaw, I'm very proud of you." She remarked softly, her voice warm. Indeed, meeting wolves from Starclan was not something that just any wolf got to do. It was an honor and something well-deserved.
Once Dragonstar had woken up, Ivyshade nodded to him and turned and padded out. Once outside the she-wolf turned to the male her gaze inquisitive. "Did all go well with your ceremony?" She asked, wondering if he himself had received any warning about what was to come. Once he replied, Ivyshade followed after him towards the camp.

Awaking with a slight start, the male wasted little time getting up onto his feet glancing about with wariness at the lack of light from the glow worms that were usually there, even the crystals had ceased shining. Exhausted from his experience and with the cheers of the star hued wolves still ringing in his ears he blinked wordlessly at Ivyshade for a moment as she spoke to him before registering what she’d said. “Well enough, we should return, there are ceremonies to preform” knowing the way out now the big burly grey male turned and padded out following his nose and whiskers. His claws clicked against the slightly uneven stone floor of the cave, none of the glow worms shone at all on their way out reminding him of how the sun had been blocked out for a few days. Narrowing his eyes at the thought he considered a few things, Nightstar had not been among the wolves to greet him, this must mean that he wasn’t in starclan which could only leave one place. The dark forest that the other wolves had spoken of, an evil place for evil wolves, somewhat disappointed in Nightstar for him to have ended up in such a place, he didn’t bother bringing that up well aware of how unliked by his peers the late leader had been. Dragonstar, the name sounded strange, alien as if it belonged to a wolf that he did not know, he’d always been steel ever since he was a small pup and now that name was gone forever, well perhaps not forever he could well guess that FF and Killian would still refer to him as the name he privately considered his true name. however, that was something to be thought about another time, he had things to do, a deputy to name, apprentices to make, flicking a glance up at the sky and noting it was nearly dawn he picked up his pace into a tired trot the journey and the experience taking more out of him than he would have liked to admit

The dark words of Ravensky’s warning had left her trembling as she woke up, looking up at Ivyshade who had woken up before she had, a strange feeling of warmth spread from her paws to her nose and tail when Ivyshade praised her and told her that she was proud of her. No one had ever been proud of her before, almost glowing with happiness for a few moments. Listening intently as Dragonstar rumbled that his ceremony had been a success she sighed softly and just pressed closely to Ivyshade. Soon enough her mentor moved off and Tremblepaw followed her rather obediently, her own worries and thoughts soon pressing down on her again, what could the dark message mean? It was talking about shadows, but she hadn’t seen any, wondering if perhaps it was because of what Ivyshade had blocked out when she’d lain infront of the medicine den? Maybe she’d ask about it later, but then again she might not, probably wouldn’t she didn’t want to bother Ivyshade with question upon question already so she’d keep quiet and just stew over it before she finally blurted it out. Her tail wagged a couple of times as she remembered yet again that finally she was safe from Nightstar, he couldn’t scare or hurt her anymore, however she was tired from the trip here and wasn’t sure how she’d make the trip back.

The Moon Cave Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Moon Cave   The Moon Cave I_icon_minitimeFri Sep 08, 2017 9:57 am

Slowing to a halt as she reached the gorge that housed several caves, one lead to the sink hole where they gathered under the full moon and another lead to the moon cave. Stopping infront of it as the thick marshy smell of shadowclan washed over her, Rosestar wrinkled her muzzle rather disgustedly, it didn’t smell of Nightstar however instead she could pick up the smell of herbs which meant their medicine wolf and two others. Hoping that the cold arrogant tosspot was currently pushing up daisies, the orange leader turned about and looked at the three wolves she’d brought with her. “Right, when we enter, you follow right on my heels, once we enter the main cavern you’ll see stalagmites embedded with crystals. Song of the sky, Rainseeker and Myself will touch our noses to a crystal, close our eyes and meet with Starclan in our dreams. Shadowheart you keep watch incase any funny business happens” once she had affirmation that the others understood and had heard her words, she mentally prepared herself for the agony that was surely to come. Turning about once more and looking up at the sky, most of the day had passed for them to get here and the sun was just setting over the horizon, wriggling her paws and forcing herself forward Rosestar entered the small dark cave. Feeling her fur brush on each side of her, she kept her tail tucked down so it wouldn’t whack the face of the wolf behind her, relieved that the glow worms as usual shone in the ceiling of the cave giving some light and hope that they were going the right way. The tunnel seemed to go on forever and ever, although finally it opened up into the medium sized cavern that was filled with stalagmites and stalactites, the crystals glowed with an unnatural light as if lost souls were trapped within them guiding the wolves forward. She stepped forward as if she had no fear, no doubts, as if she was her usual, fiery, determined and bristling self, selecting a crystal she moved over to it and paused a moment several thoughts and feelings flickering too quick to read through her pale blue-green eyes before she closed them and lay down touching her nose to the cold crystal.

Rainseeker had kept pace easily with Rosestar as they made their way into the Moon Cave and she blinked with shock when she realized that it was the smaller entrance near the Sinkhole that they held gatherings in. She had always wondered what it was and she sniffed the air leading into it frowning at the scent of Shadowclan. Her head tilted slightly wondering why they had been here but before she could think on it Rosestar was speaking. Her head swung around to look at the ginger fae as she explained what would happen and the patched female let out a shuddering breath in an attempt to control her nerves. She nodded once firmly at her leader before she followed her into the darkness keeping so close her breath ruffled the others fur. Her muzzle opened slightly with awe as she looked around the cave they suddenly found themselves in. Rains paws flattered slightly at the glowing crystals before she made her way over to one particular crystal that called to her and laid down before it. Her blue eyes closed as her nose tip found its target and her body stilled as she was pulled into Starclans territory.

Padding up after them, she visibly hesitated at the sight of the cave they were going to walk into. She hated caves, they made her tremble and cold, and surely there were no spirits in there. They needed to be somewhere high, where the could touch the sky and be together. Still, it seemed like this was normal, and she tried to stop the subtle trembles wracking her frame. Not letting herself go last, she padded after the patched Rainseeker, hating the confines of the caves. At least there was light from the small glow worms. Still shaking even when it finally opened up, she gazed about at the crystals, feeling a soft tug towards one of them. it was smaller, and set apart from the others, which suited her just nicely. Moving silently, she walked over and settled down, hesitating again before touching her nose to the cold rock and shutting her eyes.

He’d kept pace with Song of the sky the entire way, not appearing to mind the fact that they were lagging behind, he took his duties very seriously and protecting the petite female was now one of them simple as that. When Song of the Sky hesitated at the sight of the cave he wished that there was another way, but there was not nodding as he listened well to Rosestars words, he was quite fine with staying awake and keeping watch as best as he could. and so instead he hung back gesturing with a inky black paw to allow her to go before him so he brought up the rear. Stepping into the darkness he glanced up at the glow worms that mimicked the stars in the sky that had appeared as they’d gotten closer to the moon cave. Following her close enough that she could hear him just behind her he glanced about as they reached the internal cavern. Staring at the glowing crystal stalagmites in awe he watched silently as all three she wolves picked ones that called to them, in the end he chose to sit down near the spotted white she wolf as she had seemed the most nervous about ending up in this small cavern incase of an emergency he settled down and watched as all three became still as if in a deep sleep. As they slept his own thoughts turned towards his past, he missed his brother every day, and still had no idea what had happened to him, Amanda and Grace haunted his thoughts as well, would they be part of starclan now? If he ever had the chance to touch one of the glowing crystals would they visit him? The thought was a painful one, would she want him to move on with his life and learn to love again or would that be betraying her? He didn't know the answer and so decided to think about something else which ended up being the glowing glow worms in the ceiling and how they reflected in the pools of water in the cave like stars.

The Moon Cave Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Moon Cave   The Moon Cave I_icon_minitimeFri Sep 08, 2017 11:52 am

For Rosestar - Rosethorn
Waking up in the familiar clearing, Rosestar stood up and looked around, the clearing was empty, presumably they were busy granting Rainseeker her lives. However soon an old wolf walked up out of the bushes, an old grey wolf who was shabby and one that was dear to her. “Winchester” she greeted her mentor with surprising warmth, getting up she padded over to him and nudged him gently briefly forgetting what they were there for. Remembering, she took a step back and flattened her ears, lowering her head “I know, you didn’t teach me to quit, but i…. I can’t do this, three deaths in one day what kind of leader is that!? I’m a failure as a Leader, I’m not good enough for this the clan can do better, they deserve better than what I am” she was too proud, too prickly too Rosethorn not Rosestar. Closing her eyes in defeat she took a deep shuddering breath that wracked her entire frame “Its my fault… all my fault, if I’d just used my head for once in my life they’d be alive and safe!” how she detested herself for what had happened despite the fact in honesty it had all been beyond her control. Tears stained her orange muzzle as she finally opened her eyes again “and now they’re trapped in the dark forest, because I couldn’t save them” she deserved the pain of having her lives ripped from her, deserved punishment. It was only before her mentor that she trusted and respected, whom she saw as a parent and father figure that she’d allow her true feelings to be spilled so easily, she felt broken and bitter inside. She hadn’t been able to save her brother, let alone three important wolves of the clan, Winchesters voice was surprisingly soft when he responded “I trained and raised you to do what you believe to be right Rosethorn. If this is what you truly want, then it will happen however it cannot stop once it is started” the wise wolf told her his brown eyes twinkling with pity for her seeing how tormented her mind and her heart was from what had happened. Rosestar, was sobbing, heartwrenching sobs that had her shoulders heaving as she did so, it took several long minutes before she was finally able to speak somewhat coherently “Yes, this is what I want” “Don’t lie to me Rosethorn!” he snapped flattening his ears at her and growling sharply, automatically she edited her response “This is what I believe I deserve” “That’s better” although technically Rosestar hadn’t been lying when she’d said that this was what she’d wanted, Winchester was always able to cut to the heart of the matter. He was the closest thing she had to a father after all. He nudged her muzzle up and touched his nose to hers, Instantly Rosestar screamed in pain and broke the contact falling to the ground and writhing in pain.

It was if needles were being stabbed through every single pore on her skin and they were burning hot, she writhed and screamed on the ground until she became still. A ghostly version of herself arising from her fur, getting up shaking out its pelt before vanishing as if it had never been, Rosestar awoke with a start and looked up at Winchester shaking from the experience. However his features had gone hard, it was the only way he could do this to her, firmly touching his nose to hers again the pain came again only worse, this time it was a knife burning hot and dipped in acid slowly and methodically cutting her pelt away from her body. Her screams sounded for miles in the clearing, This death took much longer for her to go through and mid way through she was begging for him to just kill her with his teeth, this pain was too much it rivaled the pain she’d gone through when she’d lost her parents, brother, Winchester as well as Nettlecloud, Ghostwhisper and Jaydust all rolled into one. Finally finally there was sweet relief as she finally died for a second time, again the ghostly version of herself rose shook itself off and vanished. The scene repeated itself, again and again, the third time it was as if she was being beaten with metal clubs, she could feel each blow hit into her sickeningly, the fourth she could feel herself being literally pulled apart from all different directions. With each death her ghostly life was slower and slower to rise, as she began to loose more and more of herself with each death. The fifth she was being eaten alive by maggots, wriggling through her system, driving her mad, writhing and screaming on the ground she begged for her mentor to just make the pain stop to just kill her. But he could not, it was no easy thing a leader stepping down and so starclan would allow dark forest wolves to come up with ways to kill the leaders lives off as a warning to others who might consider the same fate. The sixth life she was being hunted as if she was a deer, she couldn’t fight back only run, and she could hear them howling and baying behind her as they brought her down sickeningly slow and drawing out her pain. After all it wasn’t often when a leader was cowardly enough to back down from leading a clan, they told her this whispering it into her ears as she faded once again. The seventh, she woke up in a cold and dark space, she could dimly see Winchester still watching, it was so cold she couldn’t move, shivering and curling up – some how the shadowy wolves knew of her hatred of cold, the slow death by cold had her bones and scars aching like they never had before. She was glad to die by the time she finally did, frostbitten and too tired to shiver anymore, it took her ghost a long time to move from her corpse but it finally did and she woke up again for her eighth life. This time she was drowning, her fur soon growing wet and heavy aiding the process, struggling and struggling the idea to give up and just die didn’t enter her head, she didn’t want to die she wanted to live. Finally slipping below the water growing weaker and weaker she kept trying to swim up even as water flooded her lungs and unable to filter the air from the water her lungs failed and she died.

Finally it was her last life, waking up in what looked like a dark shadowy place her pale eyes grew haunted as she guessed where she was. Her final life was to be taken here, in the dark forest, swallowing and getting to her paws, she flattened her ears and snarled a challenge to any out there who might be listening. However there was only nothingness until the three wolves she’d been unable to save stalked forward, beaten, tortured, broken and glaring at her with hatred “Nettlecloud….. Jaydust… Ghostwhisper” Rose murmured numbly her snarl and challenge fading. They were in terrible shape, clearly the dark forest wolves had been having fun with their new found toys, broken and manipulated already the three circled rose before starting to launch accusations at her, words of hatred, of blaming, of loathing, of disgust, they picked at every single flaw she hated about herself, they blamed her for everything she blamed herself for and when she had no fight left and was crouching there with her head hanging and tail lying limp they tore into her viciously tearing her apart until there was nothing left of  her but pieces. Her eyes flicked open and looking around she found she was ethereal, shaking from what they’d said, what they’d so clearly meant, she didn’t recognize Winchester until he was talking to her, staring at him emptily she would have welcomed the chance to join Starclans ranks then and there. “You’ve survived Rosethorn, well done” he leant forward and returned to her the life that’d been stripped away when she’d been made leader. The sensation was not unlike drinking a warm hot chocolate after being outside in the cold, it brought warmth back to her paws, her insides as if being filled up from the inside out. Gasping and spluttering at feeling something pleasant, she’d never savored the warmth of being alive and whole like she did right now, looking up at him tears sparkling in her eyes again. Winchester just licked them away and nuzzled her gently before it all went black she could hear him whispering her name "Rosethorn, Rosethorn Rosethorn", she slowly awoke in the dark cave, the first to awake she did her best to control her trembling not wanting anyone to know what she’d just been through. Managing to quickly construct a thorny defense she pretended to still be asleep, her head whirling around with what had happened especially the barbed words of the three wolves thunderclan had lost.
