SunClan Camp

Pinedusk nodded in return upon hearing Gentleheart's thanks. He turned his attention toward the pups, smiling at his son's reaction to his first piece of prey. He was still quite worried about Pebblepup. Before he could see if she was feeling well enough to eat the prey he heard Riverstar's voice. He snorted slightly. "Of course." His voice was brusque. He didn't care if his behavior had angered Riverstar. His mate and their pups came first. He looked back to Gentleheart. "If Pebblepup gets worse, send someone to come and get me," he whispered in her ear. He didn't want Lightningpup to hear. "I'll see you all later," he said before exiting the den. He followed the tunnel back to the main part of the cave, arriving in time to hear that Galepaw had also been assigned to his patrol. "Are you all ready?" he called to the three, waiting in the center of the camp for the others to come over.

The senior warrior lifted his head when he heard Riverstar tell him to join the hunting patrol. He nodded, getting up to his paws. "Sure thing." He could tell that Riverstar was probably stressed or irritated about something, and could understand why he was rather blunt with his words. Stoatblaze didn't mind. It was important to keep the fresh-kill pile well-stocked, especially with the arrival of snowfall. Pretty soon, when leafbare rolled around, it would be extremely hard to find prey. When Pinedusk called out for those going on the hunting patrol, Stoatblaze headed over to him. "I'm ready. Have you thought about where we should hunt?" he asked.

Tourmaline looked up when Riverstar addressed her. She flicked her ears with annoyance but held her tongue, just managing to keep from saying a retort. The Australian cattle dog had quite the quick temper, but she knew better than to argue with the Clan leader. Instead, she padded over to where Pinedusk and Stoatblaze had gathered and sat down. "Are we going to get going or not? I want to get this patrol over with already." She probably return to her nap when she got back, unless there was something better to do.

The happiness that Jaspercloud had earlier felt from his warrior ceremony instantly disappeared when he heard Riverstar's tone. Oh no, is he mad at me? I didn't mean to upset him. He didn't realize that he had done something wrong. He supposed that even though he'd been with SunClan for several moons now, he still had a lot to learn about Clan life. "Yes, Riverstar," he said quickly. Riverstar had said his name first when announcing the border patrol, so did that mean that he was in charge? Was he ready to lead a patrol? The small cattle dog frowned, his anxiety increasing. Letting out a sigh, he looked about the clearing for those who'd be on the patrol. Spotting Rainheart first, he hesitated before approaching her. "Rain...Rainheart? C-Could you come on the p-patrol?" His stutter had been exacerbated by the stress he felt. "I'll be waiting over... over there," he pointed with a paw towards a location somewhat near the camp entrance. It was at this point that he noticed an unfamiliar wolf by Riverstar. He didn't have enough time to worry about that now. Next, he sought out Willowmist. "Um, W-W...Willowmist? Are you ready for the patrol?" He paused for a few moments. "I'll... I'll, uh, be waiting there," he said with a point of his paw. And now he needed to find Stormpaw. The only problem was, he didn't see her in the main part of the camp. Jaspercloud sighed, and began to check the dens to see if she was present in one of them. When he came up to the medicine wolf's den, he noticed that she was there, along with a few others. "I'm sorry if I'm interrupting anything, but, Stormpaw? R-Riverstar said that he... that he wanted you to come on a border patrol. We're meeting near the entrance, w-whenever you're ready." With that, he quickly left, relieved that he'd informed everyone of the patrol. However, now he might have to lead it. The dog made his way back to where he told the others to wait, his expression clearly stressed.

The tan-and-gray wolf looked up when Riverstar ordered her on a patrol. She dipped her head. "I'll leave right away," she responded. It had been awhile since she last left camp, and she was happy to help out her Clan. Jaspercloud approached her before she could do anything else. She nodded in response, giving him a warm smile. "Of course," she replied. She headed over to the place he'd indicated, sitting down and waiting for the others to arrive. She wondered which border they'd head to first, but it probably didn't matter. She was thankful that things were peaceful at the moment between the Clans and that they didn't need to be on the alert.

Darkpup's ears perked slightly at the words of his mother to Ashfall and Heatherfrost. He raised his head slightly, swiveling his ears a bit in confusion. Who should he believe? After a moment, he settled on siding with his mother. She was the one to raise him, after all. She sacrificed everything to bring him back here. Granted, he wasn't thrilled with her for that; he wanted to be with the loners and his brother and sister more than anything. However, she was his mother, and that was that. She loved him, and he loved her. After she had padded back to him, Peachpaw's words caused the male's eyes to flare with rage. Getting to his paws, he quickly yapped after him, "Don't talk to my mother that way, you disrespectful-" Specklefrost's stern gaze caused the pup to quickly quiet, before laying down again with a growl. "He's no brother of mine if he's that rude," Darkpup growled. His mother was right; that pup wasn't his brother at all.

Darkpup's bright yellow eyes, the ones he seemed to share with his family, went to Stormpaw as she spoke. His ears perked at her words, and he gave her an eager nod. "Alright! That'll be great," he woofed back at her. "Have fun on the patrol." He secretly longed to go with her, to get out of the den. But he still needed to recover his strength- oh, how strong he used to be... Baines would always joke about Blackpup having the brains, while Darkpup had the brawn. Littlepup? She seemed to have the speed. It was like the pups were all made for each other, not to be separated. Darkpup felt somewhat... lost without them. However, Stormpaw seemed nice enough. Even with his mother's words, he'd still try to befriend her, accept her as his sister. She did say they were family.

Darkpup glanced towards Sunheart at her words, his ears perking up slightly. He quickly got to his paws and nodded eagerly. "Yes! I want to come!" the dark male yipped, before looking at his mother. She gave him a small nod, enough confirmation that he could go with. The male was overjoyed at being able to finally leave the strong-smelling den. He never liked being cooped up. Even if he was just searching for plants, he was thrilled. That meant that Sunheart believed he was strong enough to explore, too! Which was a very good thing!

Specklefrost turned her cold gaze to Peachpaw as he spat his words; half listening, half spacing out. She wouldn't let them reach her enough to effect her. Instead, she shook her head and sighed. The female rested her head on her paws, allowing herself to zone out once more, until she noticed Darkpup talking with Stormpaw, and she tilted her head. It was good to know that at least she had respect... She'd allow her pup to befriend the blue-furred apprentice. At Sunheart's suggestion, the young mother lifted her head and nodded. "I'd be glad to come," she gently woofed. However, it was mostly because she was unwilling to let Darkpup leave her sight. Not for now. She had to do whatever it'd take to protect him. So long as she was around, she wouldn't let anything happen to her pup. If something did... Who knows what would become of her?

Darkpup excitedly scrambled after the medicine wolf, practically prancing after her. He was overjoyed to finally get to leave the smelly den! He wanted to explore the rest of SunClan's territory, anyways. It didn't matter whether or not he was doing strong warrior stuff- he was out and about! His kind yellow eyes flicked back to his mother as he bounded onward, following the gentle medicine wolf. He'd occasionally even run ahead of her, until his doting mother would call him back. Finally, he was doing something fun! And doing it on a full stomach!

Pebblepup had only rested for a short time when she was awakened again, her mother prodding her to her senses. The smell of fresh-kill wafted through the air, and the pup felt her stomach rumble despite herself. Though she still felt exhausted, the idea of food was appealing, and was a sign that the little she-wolf was likely going to recover after all. Pebble sniffed the mouse gingerly before finally taking a bite, the savory flavor filling her mouth. "It's good, but it has a weird...feeling to it." She thought to herself, trying to figure out the flavor in her mind. While she ate, there seemed to be some sort of scuffle outside, as Pebble heard Ashfrost and the she-wolf who had returned with a pup arguing. Flattening her ears, Pebblepup was a bit frightened by the noise but was also relieved that she was tucked away safe in the nursery. "Why does everyone make so much noise?" She wondered to herself, frowning inwardly at the adults' foolishness. Getting angry and all worked up could hardly lead to any good after all, so why did the adults have to get all upset with each other? Pebblepup knew that all that anger could only lead to more hurt, even though she didn't really have an idea on what the wolves were fussing about. She did realize though, that Ashfrost was Stormpaw and Peachpaw's father, and she questioned in her mind how they were doing with all the fighting. Perhaps she should go check on them? But the thought of interacting with them filled Pebble with fear, so the idea was quickly dismissed.
Not long after given the mouse, her father was called away by a short-tempered Riverstar who ordered him on a patrol. The she-pup once again flattened her ears and curled her tail around her paws when the leader approached, intimidated by his power. Leaning back into Lightningpup's fur, Pebblepup let out another yawn, her eyes growing weary.

Specklefrost watched her young pup in amusement; he was so eager to leave. She knew he never liked to sit around much. Nostalgia once again tore at her heart while she remembered how he'd always be playing with his siblings and the other adults. Littlepup was always up for some roughhousing, while Blackpup preferred to listen to stories and hear what others had to say. He was an intelligent pup; though he never often backed down from a challenge. Specklefrost closed her eyes, fighting away the memories of how frail he became over the journey until he succumbed to hunger. She fought to only recall the good times they had -- there was no point in lamenting his death. Sighing, the she wolf shook off her pelt, hurriedly padding after Darkpup as he took off. Every time he ran off too far ahead, she'd call him back; he needed to remain within eyesight no matter what.
Dire Pond

The young pup wandered back into the camp her mother had said so much about. Since her passing Moss had a sudden urge to rejoin the clan that had left her mother flat. She would start a new life and grow up happy like her mother had always wanted. She looked around for other wolves mostly sticking to herself not really knowing anyone. She sat down observing the area. It had officially been a moon since she had joined and she was still a loner within the clans. She hoped that would change someday. She wanted to make her mother proud of her.

Mosspup watched as the male approached her. She had heard his complaining around camp many times but had always wondered about him. She chuckled as he mentioned the whole not allowed to leave camp thing. She often left to clear her head and was seldom noticed by the other wolves. On the other hand she squeaked as she was picked up by the male and brought farther into camp. “Put me down right now! I am perfectly capable of walking!” Mosspup was normally a very easy going pup but hated being picked up more then anything. She scowled as she was set back on the ground. Mosspup then looked up at the male. He seemed to only be a little taller then herself so he had to be at least an apprentice,”I don’t think I’ve had the pleasure of meeting you yet. What’s your name?”
